FAQ: society staff attendance
What is society staff attendance on Plinth? A daily register where admins mark each staff member present, absent, in, or out for today, using the same roster as helpdesk.
Who can mark attendance? Admins mark all states at /admin/staff-attendance. Guards and society staff mark in and out at Gate desk → Society staff.
Can I export attendance for payroll? Yes Reports tab with Export CSV, custom dates, or This payroll period if you set a payroll start day in Settings. Hours come from paired in/out events; Plinth does not calculate salary.
Is gate attendance audited? Yes gate marks write to staff_attendance_log and audit_log with source gate.
Can committee see attendance? Yes committee members open Staff reports for read-only summaries and CSV export.
Can staff see their own attendance? Yes when an admin links your member email to your roster row, open My attendance from your profile menu.
Does Plinth verify faces like MyGate SmartEye? No guards can capture an optional photo and optional passcode. Plinth does not auto-match faces or mark absent on photo mismatch.
Where do I add staff? Admin → Staff attendance or Helpdesk → Staff & vendors. Vendor-supplied staff can be linked to a vendor from Helpdesk.
What staff roles are supported? facility_manager, security_supervisor, guard, housekeeping_manager, housekeeping, technician, accountant, and general.
What do present, absent, in, and out mean? Present / absent for daily headcount; in / out for shift start and end. Pick what fits your gate process.
Can I change a mark later the same day? Yes marking again updates today's row. The action is audit-logged via attendance record.
Is there one mark per staff per day? Yes one attendance record per staff member per calendar day.
Does marking attendance affect helpdesk? The roster is shared; attendance does not auto-close tickets, but you can see who was marked absent before assigning work.
What tier is staff attendance on? Operations see pricing.
Is every mark audited? Yes each mark writes to the append-only audit log.
