Why Housing Societies Need Household Help Tracking

Updated 2026-06-07

Why societies need household help tracking

  1. Scattered registers — each flat tracks maids differently; the committee has no society view
  2. Gate confusion — security cannot tell which helper belongs to which flat without a call
  3. No-show disputes — "my maid came" vs "she never arrived" with no dated record
  4. Trade visits untracked — plumber and electrician entries logged on torn paper sheets
  5. WhatsApp noise — attendance photos in resident groups, deleted after a week
  6. No audit — committee cannot show who marked attendance or when a mark was corrected

Plinth lets residents register and manage their own helpers while admins see every active helper in the society. Daily marks (inside, out, didn't come) go through mark_household_helper_attendance and write to the append-only audit log — one record per helper per calendar day.
