Admin: create and run a committee election

Before you start

  • Society admin role required.
  • Owner roster imported; most flats claimed.

Steps

  1. Go to Admin → Elections → New election.
  2. Enter Title and Term (e.g. 2026–2027).
  3. Add Posts — name, seats, voting method (plurality or ranked-choice).
  4. Set Phase dates: nomination open/close, scrutiny, voting open/close.
  5. Configure Eligibility and Credentials if needed.
  6. Optionally assign an Election Officer by email.
  7. Tap Announce to notify all members.
  8. Monitor nominations (Admin → Elections → [election] → Nominations).
  9. Run or delegate scrutiny; resolve objections.
  10. Voting opens automatically on schedule.
  11. After close, review results and tap Declare results.
  12. Download the Election report for society records.

Tips

  • Give at least 7 days for nominations per common bye-laws.
  • Use an external Election Officer for contested elections.
