The events calendar shows what is happening in your society and lets organisers plan for the right number of people.

Finding events
Open /events. You will see events your committee has published — drafts are not visible to residents.
Events are categorised so you can tell at a glance what kind of thing it is:

Maintenance and security entries are worth watching even if you skip the social ones — a water shutdown on the calendar is the notice you will wish you had read.
RSVP
Open the event and choose one:
- Going — you will attend
- Maybe — undecided
- Not going — you will not attend
You can change your answer any time before the event.
Why an accurate RSVP matters
Organisers order food, hire chairs and book staff against the numbers. An event catered for 120 where 190 turn up is a bad evening for everyone, and the cost falls on the society either way.
If you are unsure, choose maybe rather than going. Organisers plan differently for a firm 80 plus 40 maybes than for a soft 120.
And if your plans change, update it. It takes five seconds and it is genuinely useful.
Bringing guests
Check the event details — many society events cap outside guests or ask you to declare them.
If you are bringing people from outside the society, tell the organisers and pre-approve them at the gate so entry is not chaos on the night. See creating a visitor pass.
Cancelled events
If an event is cancelled, it stays visible with that status rather than disappearing, so you know it was called off rather than wondering whether you missed it. You should also get a notice.
Volunteering
Most society events run on four people doing everything. If you have ever complained that the society does not do enough, this is the cheapest possible way to fix it — tell the organisers you will take one named role: sound, food, children's activities, decoration, or cleanup.
Cleanup is the least popular and most necessary. Volunteering for it will make you genuinely popular with the committee.
