FAQ: society accounting for housing societies
What is Plinth society accounting? An admin-only expense ledger plus a defaulters view — not full double-entry accounting.
Who can access it? Society admins (treasurer/secretary) at Admin → Accounting (/admin/accounting). Residents have no accounting page.
What fields does each expense have? Description, amount (₹), category, optional vendor, and incurred date.
What categories are available? Housekeeping, security, utilities, repairs, salaries, admin, events, capex, vendor, statutory, other.
Where do defaulter balances come from? Outstanding amounts on maintenance invoices issued in Plinth billing.
Does it replace Tally or my CA's books? No — it is a thin slice for committee visibility alongside maintenance billing.
Which pricing tier includes it? Finance tier.
Is there a resident expense view? No — residents see their own dues under My dues, not society-wide spending.
Does it link to voting? Same society and flat roster; finance sits beside governance on one platform.
