What is society visitor & gate management?
Society visitor & gate management is a digital pass system where verified residents pre-approve visitors before they arrive, guards verify OTP or QR at the gate, and every entry and exit is logged — replacing phone calls to flat owners and paper visitor registers.
On Plinth, residents create passes at Visitors (/visitors) via the create_pass RPC.
Each pass gets a 6-digit OTP and QR code, valid for 24 hours. Visit kinds include
guest, delivery, cab, vendor, staff, and other.
Guards and society staff use Gate desk (/admin/gate) to verify pre-approved passes or log
walk-ins — request_walkin_approval notifies flat owners, who approve or deny with
approve_visit / deny_visit. Entry and exit are recorded through log_gate_event, with a
full gate_events audit trail.
