When to use society visitor & gate
Use Plinth visitor & gate whenever your society wants residents to control who enters — with a record the committee can audit — not just a verbal OK at the intercom.
Expected guests and family visits
Create a pass with kind guest before relatives arrive. Share OTP or QR so security does not need to call the flat. Ideal for evening visits, weekend guests, and elderly parents who cannot answer the gate phone quickly.
Delivery and courier peaks
Pre-create delivery passes for expected Amazon, Swiggy, or grocery runs. Guards verify OTP in seconds during the 6–9 PM rush instead of dialling every flat.
Cab and ride-share drop-offs
Kind cab covers Ola, Uber, and local taxis. Residents share the OTP with the driver; guard verifies once and logs entry / exit if your bye-laws require it.
Approved vendors and technicians
Plumbers, electricians, and society-contracted vendors use kind vendor. Pair with helpdesk work orders when the visit ties to a ticket.
Society staff and domestic help
Kind staff covers regular housekeeping, drivers, or agency guards who are not on the staff attendance roster but need logged entry.
Walk-ins without prior notice
When someone arrives unannounced, guards use walk-in on Gate desk — never guess approval.
request_walkin_approval pings the flat owner; only approve_visit opens the gate.
Security incidents and disputes
When a resident questions who entered on a given date, pull the gate_events trail instead of searching a paper register.
